Aloha! ʻO Winnie Lam koʻu inoa. I am the Orchestra Director here at KES and KMS. This is my 18th year teaching Orchestra at KMS, and will be my 5th year teaching Orchestra at KES. I will also be assisting the KHS Orchestra this school year.
I graduated at the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Masters of Arts in Music Education and a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Instrumental Music Education degrees. I have also taught private violin and viola lessons for the past 20+ years. Before teaching at Kamehameha Schools, I served as the Beginning Strings Co-director for the Hawaii Youth Symphony from 2001 to 2004. I also taught the After School Advanced Strings Orchestra at Moanalua Elementary School from 2002 to 2003.
I am married to my husband, Gordon, and we have two beautiful children along with our beloved dog, Chica. Kylie is my oldest daughter who is currently a Sophomore in high school, and Kaysen is my youngest son who is currently a 7th grader. They both enjoy and love music as they both play the violin and piano.
In my spare time, I like to go shopping, play my violin, cook and bake, spend time with my husband and my two children, and hang out with my friends.
